Community Events From: The San Diego River Park Foundation

Volunteer: The Great River Community Clean-Up - Saturday, 11/8/25


If you care about the environment and don't mind getting a little dirty, then this may be the perfect fit for you!

Join us on November 8th from 9am - 12pm for our Great River Clean-up! Come enjoy a beautiful morning outdoors with like-minded members of the community to help remove thousands of pounds of trash in just three hours! This effort is especially important before winter rains come. We target the most polluted areas of the river so that this trash does not wash downstream into the ocean. 

Each year, San Diego River Park Foundation volunteers remove more than 200,000 pounds of trash from our namesake waterway. Without our amazing volunteers, this trash would be left to pollute native animal habitats, parks and public spaces, leach contaminants into the water, and wash out into our ocean and beaches!

Here are a few tips to help you prepare for the event: Check-In: 8:45 AMAttire: Long pants and closed-toe shoes are requiredAll tools and supplies will be providedOther Things to Bring: Reusable water bottle, hat, other forms of sun protectionWeather: Light rain will not cancel the eventFor safety reasons, no pets are allowed at this eventThere are no restroom facilities at this location.
