Volunteer: Walk for Wildlife Volunteer Team!Click SIGN UP next to the correlated shift time at the bottom of this page to sign up for the volunteer shift. Friday, May 8: 11am-3pm Equipment Load in and Drop Off (5 spots) These volunteers swill assist with loading of equipment at the SDRPF office (located in Bay Park) and unloading at Riverwalk Golf Course the day before the event. Requires bending, stooping, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Saturday, May 9: 5:30-7am Event Setup (8 spots) These volunteers will set up check-in tables, t-shirts, banners, signage, and team giveaway items. They will also assist with setting up snack and water stations. Requires bending, stooping, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. 6:30-9:30am Check In (12 spots) This position will check in event participants as they arrive and provide them with their race number. These volunteers should be ready to check in participants no later than 7:00 am. Requires the ability to sit for the duration of the event and good communication skills. 6:30-9:30am T-shirt Assistants (6 spot)This position will distribute t-shirts to participants after they have checked in. Requires the ability to sit for the duration of the event, communication and customer service skills. 6:30-9:30am Course Guides (15 spots) These volunteers will guide participants around the course and cheer them on. Requires the ability to stand for the duration of the event and to walk along the course a maximum distance of 1.5 miles. 7-9am Water and Snack Managers (6 spots) This position will distribute snacks, monitor water, monitor snacks, and refill if needed. Requires the ability to stand for the duration of the event. A golf cart is available to check stations. May require lifting ofwater bottles, boxes and bending. 7-9am Crowd Management (6 spots) This position directs participants when they arrive to a check-in table or to the registration table. Requires the ability to stand for the duration of the event. 10am-1pm Tear Down (6 spots) These volunteers tear down check-in tables, t-shirts, banners, signage and assist with loading equipment into staff vehicles and unloading of equipment at SDRPF office. They will also assist in retrieving any leftover snacks and water.
