Join us on June 14th from 8am - 11am at Grant Park for a Community River Clean-up! Come work outdoors with like-minded members of the community to help remove thousands of pounds of trash in just three hours and help create a beacon of green space in the heart of Mission Valley!
Each year, San Diego River Park Foundation volunteers remove more than 200,000 pounds of trash from our namesake waterway. Without our amazing volunteers, this trash would be left to pollute native animal habitats, parks and public spaces, leach contaminants into the water, and wash out into our ocean and beaches!
IMPORTANT: This is an 18+ volunteer event. We will be targeting a specific site known to have many heavy, special-removal items - come prepared to work hard! This will be a heavy-hauling day!
Location: Grant Park
Park + Meet: Because of construction activity, please park across the street from Grant Park site in the northwest area of the SpringHill Suites parking lot. The address is 2401 Camino del Rio N, San Diego, CA 92108. Due to amazing efforts of our volunteers, barge shuttling and trash hauling finished Friday, 6/14. This event has been moved to the east side of Estuary South.
Parking will likely be along the west side of Pacific Highway near the 5 overpasses unless there is still some construction, in which case you may park at the River Park office in spots marked SDRPF.
- Check-In: 7:45 AM
- Attire: Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required
- All tools and supplies will be provided
- Other Things to Bring: Reusable water bottle, hat, other forms of sun protection
- Weather: Light rain will not cancel the event
- For safety reasons, no pets are allowed at this event
- There are no restroom facilities at this location. Please plan accordingly.
- Community Service hours can be verified for those who need them.
