We are holding a special event at Mission Valley Preserve to remove invasive species from a recently burned area. This area was recently burned and affected both native and invasive species. To promote native recruitment, we are going out to remove invasive species such as Brazilian peppertrees and other woody species.
What to expect: Many of these invasive plant species are small to medium-sized woody trees/shrubs and require either chainsawing or hand sawing. We will get dirty. Please wear a hat and sunscreen, long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy closed-toed shoes. All tools will be provided. If you prefer to use your own gloves or safety glasses, please bring them. Please also bring plenty of drinking water and snacks.
We will meet at the Presidio Little League on the western side, near Cottonwood Grove (32.7615190, -117.1931948): https://www.google.com/maps/dir//32.761519,-117.1931948/@32.7463388,-117.1895134,13057m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m4!4m3!1m0!1m1!4e1?entry=ttu.
Please note: This is a special IMPACT event and is not located at Fashion Valley Mall; instead, it is located at Mission Valley Preserve.
