Join the Art Restoration Team (A.R.T.) this Sunday, August 7th from 9:00am - 11:00am to finish restoring one of our beautiful community murals that was recently damaged by graffiti. This mural was originally painted in 2007 by the San Diego River Park Foundation, surrounding community, and neighborhood partners who created this wonderful mural under Morena Blvd along Friars Road.
The graffiti has been covered up with paint by volunteers in the A.R.T. (Art Restoration Team) volunteer team last week and now we are ready for the finishing touches!
All tools will be provided, but we gladly welcome any paint or supplies you may wish to bring! Please bring a reusable water bottle, clothes comfortable for painting in, and of course your friends/family/coworkers! This event is family friendly. The address is 5198 Friars Rd, San Diego, CA 92110. Parking is available directly next to the mural, but please be aware of the construction of Friars Road. Currently traffic is limited to only go East-bound, meaning you can access Friars Road from the West at Sea World Drive.
Please email Shane@sandiegoriver.org with any questions or comments. If this event sounds like fun, please consider signing up for the A.R.T. team to be kept up to date with all mural and paint-based restoration projects along the San Diego River!
