Spring Riverbed Homeless Census

Expired

Description

Once again, the San Diego River Park Foundation will be conducting a river-wide homeless census event where we record locations of camps and people observed in the riverbed.  This is a 4 day event and will take place from Thursday, March 31st to Sunday, April 3rd. Different segments of the river will be covered on each day from 6:00am-9:00am.

During this event, we will be tallying all of the people living unsheltered in the San Diego Riverbed and its tributaries.  (If you have participated in recent census events, this will be more similar to our November events than the WeAllCount census early this year, as there will be no interviews.)

This census is vitally important, as we seek to collect data on homeless encampments in the riverbed at the end of the wet season. We have multiple locations, as described below. Please let us know if you have a preference.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Thursday March 31st - Grantville
  • Friday April 1st - Eastern Mission Valley
  • Saturday April 2nd - Ocean Beach/Western Mission Valley
  • Sunday April 3rd - Santee

If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out this google form with your contact information and preferred date/location. You will receive more information once your RSVP is received via the google form.

Any questions or concerns please email rachel@sandiegoriver.org

Hope you can join us!
