Join our staff and volunteers for an invigorating route-finding hike from two of our properties in the Headwaters: Eagle Peak Ranch to Eagle Peak Preserve. The latter is our closest preserve to Cedar Creek Falls, a popular hike in San Diego. This hike promises an intense adventure including some off trail travel with beautiful views, covering various terrains with many elevation gains and losses. It is essential to note that this hike is for experienced hikers only, as the trail spans approximately 6-7 miles through challenging terrain.
Our journey will take us from Eagle Peak Ranch, winding through Forest Service land, traversing our South Rim property, and eventually reaching Easy Hill before arriving at Bathtub Creek. To facilitate the return trip, we will park cars on Eagle Peak Road to shuttle participants back to Eagle Peak Ranch.
Please remember to bring your lunch or snacks to enjoy along the way and ensure you have an ample supply of water. Be fully prepared with essential hiking gear for a full day excursion.
As this event takes place in the heart of a wilderness area, we urge everyone to stay in close proximity to our experienced staff and volunteers throughout the event for your own safety. There may be potential hazards, including rattlesnakes, mountain lions, and poison oak, so caution is paramount.
