Join the San Diego River Park Foundation for a hike to the top of one of our newly acquired open space properties, Lillian Hill. From the hilltop, enjoy breathtaking views of Three Sisters Waterfall and the expansive San Diego River Gorge!
Please bring a bag lunch or snacks and plenty of drinking water to enjoy at the top of the hill under an old oak tree.
This hike is a 1.5-miles out-and-back trail and includes a 270 feet elevation gain. The hike is considered 'easy to moderate.'
Please note: This event is located in the middle of a wilderness area. Stay in close proximity to our experienced staff/volunteers throughout the event for your safety. Potential dangers include rattlesnakes, mountain lions, poison oak, etc.
What is Lillian Hill?
An expansive 80-acre property at Lillian Hill was placed on the market for potentially five building sites. Surrounded by National Forest, its development would have a significant impact. We set out to buy this land to conserve it forever for the badgers, cougars, eagles, falcons, majestic oaks, and more. Now that it is purchased, we can begin removing the scars of decades of land use and start the healing process.
