Who We Are

Come join the RiverWatch team and learn how we monitor the water quality of the San Diego River!

The RiverWatch Team is a community science team that conducts monthly water chemistry monitoring to keep tabs on the health of the San Diego River. Teams meet on the third Thursday and Friday of the month (with some exceptions) for monitoring. This program is led by a team of passionate volunteers.

The Team uses a compact electronic sonde to collect real-time data on things like dissolved oxygen content, pH, conductivity, temperature, and the nutrient content of the water at 15 different locations along the River.

What We Do

This is the perfect opportunity for students who are interested in gaining experience in environmental science or community members who would like to learn more about local ecology.
