The San Diego River Park Foundation's STEAM learning lab, the River Studio at Grant Park will be completed in just a few weeks! Construction of the has made significant progress, and now we are ready to get the community involved with some of the finishing touches! We are looking for Individuals and groups to join the fun as we prep, prime and paint in the interior walls of the River Studio, which will soon be a place of learning and river engagement for thousands of children annually!
We will be painting the River Studio starting Monday, June 23rd and will wrap up by Wednesday, June 25th, painting from 9:00am - 12:00pm each day. All volunteers will get a tour of Grant Park! Please see the schedule below for more details.
Schedule:
- Monday (6/23): Prep & Prime
- Prepping the walls, laying out plastic tarps, primer layer
- Tuesday (6/24): Painting
- First and second coat of color
- Wednesday (6/25): Final touches
- Final touches, if needed!
Location:
Meet in the Grant Park parking lot (address is 2310 Camino Del Rio N), enter at the light, heading north on Discovery Way, and park in the parking lot.

- Attire: Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty (interior paint WILL stain!)

- For safety reasons, no pets are allowed at this event
- There are restroom facilities at this location
- All ages are welcome, but those under 16 need supervision. Ages 16 and 17 are allowed alone but with a parent signature.
