Help the RAFT team check out the impacts of the recent storms! Volunteers are needed to help with updating our trash data and handing out care kits to people experiencing homelessness who were affected by the storm. Care kits have already been created and include things such as warm socks and snacks.
We will likely split into 2 groups; one group more focused on passing out care kits, and one group more focused on data collection, although both teams will participate in both activities.
We anticipate conditions will still be quite flooded. Rubber rain boots are strongly recommended. We have some extras available to loan, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own if they have them!
Location: Mission Valley Preserve
Park + Meet: Mission Valley YMCA west parking lot, 5505 Friars Rd, San Diego, CA 92110. Meet in the southwest corner of the parking lot.
When you get to the meeting location, look for an “Event Here” A-frame sign and our event leaders in red t-shirts!
