Description

Join us to help restore the San Diego River through our habitat restoration program, where we will document the flora and fauna of the San Diego River Mouth for California Biodiversity Week. Our Invasive Management, Plant Assessment, and Conservation (I.M.P.A.C.T.) Team consists of volunteers dedicated to restoring the San Diego River watershed to its natural state. We invite you to join us in our efforts to help restore the San Diego River estuary. Together, we will work as a team to document the many beautiful and unique species along the San Diego River estuary.

What to Expect: Help celebrate California's biodiversity and help inform the state's 30x30 initiative by taking a closer look at nearby nature and documenting your finds on iNaturalist! Learn how to collect essential species information by documenting plants and animals using the iNaturalist app on your smartphone. Your data collection will make a big difference by contributing to local and statewide conservation efforts!

Who Would Be Perfect for the Team: Our I.M.P.A.C.T. Team welcomes individuals from all walks of life. Retired folks can use their time and experience to contribute to the environment, while students seeking hands-on experience in habitat restoration can gain valuable knowledge and skills. Families are also encouraged to participate, as our activities are a great way to bond and instill a sense of stewardship for the natural world in children. If you are passionate about making a difference and want to help restore the San Diego River, you would be an ideal fit for our team
