Celebrate California Biodiversity Day exploring nature at Peutz Creek Preserve as you contribute to science! Help us celebrate the exceptional biodiversity of our river while also encouraging actions to protect it. Learn how to collect important species information on your smartphone using iNaturalist. We will document the amazing plants and animals of San Diego County. No prior experience required, family friendly!
We also encourage individuals to gather observations on iNaturalist throughout California's Biodiversity Week in any publicly accessible areas of the SD Watershed, not exclusively during this event!
What is a BioBlitz? A BioBlitz is an intense period of biological surveying in an attempt to record all the living species within a designated area (in this case, Peutz Creek Preserve). We use the smartphone app iNaturalist to record this data. Learn what iNaturalist is, how to use it and why it's so important here.
We are excited to have you explore nature with us while simultaneously contributing to critical citizen science!
