We no longer need volunteers to help run this event - but please sign up if you would like to attend as a guest! If you're interested in volunteering for our education team in the future, shoot us an email at volunteer@sandiegoriver.org and we'll be in touch.

Join us in the celebration of Monarchs, Milkweed, and Moms at the Point Loma Native Plant Garden! Learn about the life stages of the Monarch Butterfly from egg, to caterpillar, to chrysalis, and finally to the majestic butterfly! Find out why the Narrow-leaf Milkweed plant, which is native to San Diego, is so important to this beautiful butterfly. Start your own butterfly garden with our craft project for kids!

Make and Take Project:

Make a planter for Mom to plant milkweed seeds to encourage butterflies. Children will make their own Monarch Butterfly pin and attached it to themselves or their milkweed container!

This event is sponsored by the City of San Diego!
